Corrective Work

Within the industry of aesthetics, there is often news of many individuals who are not happy with their previous results from dermal fillers.

Dermal fillers are extremely popular nowadays and can remain in the tissue for between 6 months and 2 years.

Some individuals, however, wish to reverse the effects of their previous treatment with dermal filler and so our team at the Aesthetics Lounge are here to assist those that wish to remove their filler, which unfortunately is often a result of the work from unqualified and inexperienced beauticians.

Hyaluronidase Enzyme

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of hyaluronic acid, meaning that it breaks down the hyaluronic acid molecules from the dermal fillers that have previously been injected into your face.

Hyaluronidase is a Prescription Only Medicine (POM) in the UK used as a correction treatment, as it is injected into the area of previously injected dermal filler and begins working within ~48 hours.

Filler reversal, however, is only possible for HA fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, Perlane, and Prevelle. It is not effective on Radiesse, Artefill, Silicone, or any other non-HA fillers.

The excess filler will dissolve almost straight away and sometimes only one treatment may be needed, however, another treatment may be needed  3-5 days later.
